Economic Changes

Both the Great Famine and the Black Death were a source of economic changes in Europe because when the person in a family who has a job and is bringing home income gets sick or dies, that family loses its source of money.
           

Great Famine

The Great Famine was a food shortage in the early 1300s in Europe that killed millions of people. It started with bad weather, which then destroyed the crops. This was very bad because crops were a large source of food, so the people had nothing to eat and starved to death.

Black Death

The Black Death, also known as the Black Plague, was a disease that spread rapidly throughout Europe, around the same time as the Great Famine, killing millions of people. Unfortunately, about one of three people died from the Black Death.
